  1. Jherlyn, You bring up good points in this presentation. Teaching students technology is not only about technology. Mastery and proper usage is key when using technology. By the way, I used your Jing help video to upload my presentation to my blog! Thanks for your help! the video was very easy to follow!

  2. This is an excellent presentation! You have really touched upon issues of integrating new literacies, as also indicated in the research studies. It is not just about using technology, it is about using technology to support students' content learning. It should be embedded in the teachers' daily curriculum and routine. Today, however, we are still grappling with the issues of providing PD for teachers to practice new literacies in the classroom. The assessment of new literacy skills is essential to the success of students' practices in the classroom. Here's one of our recent article may have some implications on our discussion topic: An investigation of middle school science teachers and students use of technology inside and outside of classrooms: considering whether digital natives are more technology savvy than their teachers (http://download.springer.com/static/pdf/920/art%253A10.1007%252Fs11423-014-9355-4.pdf?auth66=1415765685_79d4be1609e91662a4967487232d176a&ext=.pdf).

  4. Hi Jherlyn,

I your like your video presentation. It was very clear and you raise so really good points. One of the issues that I found to be very important was choosing a platform. You spoke about choosing technology based on its benefit to the the curriculum. This is very important because we cannot neglect the curriculum due to incorporating new literacies.
